Hit a Deer? - That falls under your Auto Insurance Comprehensive Coverage

By admin on November 2nd, 2008 Insured drivers whose cars are damaged in auto-deer collisions may be covered for more than they think. With deer migrating and mating season occurring between October and December, Better Business Bureau and Insurance Information Institute recommend that drivers read their auto insurance policy closely or they could miss out on reimbursements or other benefits they are entitled to receive. Drivers spend a lot of money on auto insurance, but too often they wait until they need to make a claim after an accident and don’t remember what their policy will cover, said Steve Cox, BBB spokesperson. When there’s a seasonal problem like deer collisions and many people aremaking claims simultaneously, it’s important for car owners to ask the representative handling their claim about their coverage and deductible, as well as any options that are included, so they get their money’s worth. According to the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.), a non-profit organi...

Has Anyone Stolen an Actor's Oscar Statue?

Has anyone's Oscar been stolen on Oscar night? Or lost?— Miss Keli , via Twitter Probably. But more often they go missing years later. Angelina Jolie recently told the press she has no idea where her Girl, Interrupted Oscar is. She handed it off to her mother, Marcheline Betrand, who carefully hid it away because of its obvious significance to the history of mankind. But Bertrand has since passed away, and Jolie was recently quoted as saying, "I didn't actually lose it, but nobody knows where it is at the moment." Matt Damon also may not know where his Oscar is for Good Will Hunting. Seriously...

Travel Tips>Regulations>Italia

Hefty fines are imposed on Tourists purchasing counterfeit goods while visiting Italy As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and security of travelers, the Italian Government Tourist Board strongly recommends that tourists do not, under any circumstances, attempt to purchase any counterfeit items, as this may end up costing them well more than an authentic product. It aims at a national wide crackdown on the sellers and buyers of counterfeit items, i.e. purses, sunglasses, watches, belts, etc bearing luxury labels such as Prada, Gucci, Fendi only to name a few. Customs Regulations Luggage is examined on entering and leaving Italy. Free entry is allowed for personal effects: clothing (new and used), books, camping and household equipment, fishing tackle, 1 pair of...

Used Cars

Used cars these days are a tough go. You can find so many new cars that are so nice, and new! However, here is some advice: Never offer a deposit on a used car. There is no point. I know scams are out there. You buy a used car, offer a refundable deposit over the phone, then they say it wasn't refundable. They have your credit card information. Trust me, they get away with this one. Go to someone you trust or know to buy the used car. If you can. Auto crimes are rampant. Test drive, Test drive more than 3 cars. Did I mention Test drive? Compare the value of an old car that is fairly new to a new one. You can get a very good deal on a one year old used car with a warranty left over. Get paid for someone else's mistake! If you don't want to buy a used car because you still like your old car, consider this: If you love your car or truck, and need to replace that motor, there are engines that are exact fit for your automobile. However, sometimes it is simply easier and cheaper...

Teen Drivers and Auto Insurance Rates

Encourage the Teen to Maintain Good Grades Insurance companies reward teen drivers that maintain a "B" or better average in school. They have found that teen drivers with good school grades are more conscientious drivers. As a result, they earn a discount on their auto insurance premiums. Be a Driving Role Model Whether or not a parent realizes it or not, teenagers learn good and bad driving habits from their parents. Parents must make sure to buckle up, use hands free devices for cell phones and most importantly don't drink and drive. Teens emulate what their parents do. If a parent is known to have a drink or two with dinner and then drive home, expect the teen to mirror the behavior. Select a Safe Car While a teen may have a grand time driving a brand new, high-powered sports car, purchasing such a car for a teen will send the auto insurance premiums through the roof. Instead, select an older car with built in safety features such as anti-lock breaks and auto alarms. W...
